Who we are
Millers Restaurant
Millers Restaurant, 55 Brigsley Road, Waltham, Grimsby, DN37 0JZ, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Contact us about your information at [email protected] or on 01472 828600.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Orders: your name, phone number, email address, the dishes you order, your requested time, any notes and, for delivery, your address.
- Bookings: your name, phone number, email address, the date, time and size of your booking, and any notes or special occasion you tell us about.
- Gift cards: the buyer’s name and email address, and the recipient’s name and the message, if you add them.
- Accounts: if you sign in, your name, email address and the sign-in method you use (email, Google or Apple).
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and refunds, not your full card details.
Why we use it
How we use your information
- To take, prepare and deliver your order, manage your booking, and send you confirmations and updates. We need this to provide what you’ve asked for.
- To take payments and give refunds.
- To check your delivery address is within our delivery area.
- To protect the website from fraud and automated abuse.
- To keep the business records we’re required to keep by law, such as accounting records.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t send you marketing unless you ask us to.
How long we keep it
Keeping your information
We keep order, booking and payment records for up to 6 years, as required for accounting and tax. Other information is deleted automatically: copies of the emails we send you 30 days after they’re sent (if an email can’t be delivered, 90 days after we stop trying, which for order and booking updates is within a day), the details our payment provider sends us about each payment after 90 days (we keep only the payment reference and amount), and unfinished order or booking submissions after 7 days. The private status link in your order emails stops showing the delivery address and notes 7 days after the order is finished. Website security counters are deleted after a day and delivery-address check results after 30 days at most; these store no address text. If you have an account, you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Cookies
Cookies and similar technology
We only use what’s needed for the website to work. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, so we don’t ask for cookie consent.
- A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in to your account. A short-lived cookie protects the sign-in process.
- Your basket and form details are saved in your own browser so you don’t lose them if you leave the page. If you send an order, booking request or gift card purchase and we can’t confirm it (for example, your connection drops), what you sent, including your name, contact details and any delivery address, stays in your browser until it is confirmed, so trying again can’t make a second one. If it is never confirmed, it is removed the next time you visit one of those pages after 24 hours; signing out doesn’t remove it. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it sooner.
- Saved on your device: only if you tick “Save my details on this device” at checkout, your name, phone number, email, delivery address and the dishes in that order are kept in your browser on that device, so they’re filled in next time and you can order the same again. They aren’t sent anywhere until you place another order. Untick the box when you next order, or clear this site’s data in your browser, to remove them.
- Before 5pm, when we ask whether you’re looking for Millers Café or the restaurant, choosing the restaurant is remembered in your browser for the rest of that day, so we don’t ask again.
- Cloudflare’s security check may use technical information about your browser to tell people from automated programs.
